A large meta-analysis found that combined use of angiotensin-receptor blockers (ARBs) and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors) was associated with a significant increase in cancer incidence, which was not seen with ARB or ACE inhibitor monotherapy. These data provide a strong rationale to avoid combined ARB/ACE inhibitor therapy unless there is a compelling reason for it.
